Putting in place plans for the new 2025 Juniper crop
It is still far too early to comment on the yield and quality of the crop. The harvest will not start until September. However, given the volatility around the world, purchase plans for Beacon Commodities seem to start earlier every year.
2024 Crop:
The quality of the 2024 crop was good and tied in with a lower global demand for Juniper. Beacon Commodities are pleased with their ‘buffer’ stocks of Juniper moving forward. Caution must be exercised when looking at the new crop as there are quantities of 2024 crop still unsold due to a drop in demand throughout 2024.
Forest Fires:
Close attention will be paid to the weather conditions throughout the summer. In 2024 there were numerous forest fires all over Macedonian resulting in Government restrictions on entering the mountainous areas. It may be something this region may need to get accustomed to. Many of the fires are started unintentionally via broken glass bottles magnifying the sun light and light the dry grass.
